The DWML Impromptu Dancers is a group of students between the ages of 9-18 sharing their love and knowledge of dance through community-based activities and performances. In addition to dancing at Disneyland, the Palm Springs Light Parade, and Palm Springs Annual Dance Festival, the group is involved in many charitable endeavors such as:
- teaching dance classes to at-risk youth at the Coachella Valley Housing Coalition
- serving meals and dancing with the children at Coachella Valley Rescue Mission
- various food and toy drives for different organizations throughout the valley
- teaching dance at the Boys & Girls Club of Palm Springs
- hosting the annual Drea’s Dream” Dance-a-thon to raise money for the Andrea Rizzio foundation, which provides terminally ill children with dance therapy
The Impromptu Dancers program teaches students the value of helping others and gives them an opportunity to bond and make lasting friendships outside of the DWML studio. It also gives them a chance to further their dance education with special guest instructors and admittance to dance conventions.
