Learn to Fly at DWML
Ms. Lindsay, as she is known to her students, believes that her role as an instructor goes beyond teaching ballet. She uses her artistic abilities and entrepreneurial spirit as an example to young girls of how education is one of the cornerstones to a more enriching life. Her brand of “can-do” enthusiasm and integrity teaches confidence, perseverance, and self-love regardless of body size or shape. Ms. Lindsay inspires her classes by teaching with respect, wisdom and grace. The lessons learned at Dance With Miss Lindsay prepare students to further their studies, both in and out of dance, and pursue their dreams.

MISS LINDSAY KAUFMANN, Founder & Instructor
Dance with Miss Lindsay is not just an activity – it is a journey for each child. For over 20 years, I have had the privilege to engage children in developing a passion for dance, music and theatre. This passion also entails the belief that each child that enters my studio can meet his or her highest potential through discipline, respect for self and others, self-acceptance and empathy to others. Dance is the vehicle that is utilized to help each child find their authentic self and develop personal confidence and skills that will take them throughout life.
My own journey as a dance instructor, artistic director and studio owner has allowed me to create a dance program that follows the changes in society and needs for child development. As a graduate of Palm Springs High School and California State University at Chico, I understand the needs of children in our local community and the importance for higher education. After college, I went to Austria to continue my ballet training and to become a ballet instructor for over 200 young girls in 3 different cities. My love for our desert community brought me back to Palm Springs in 1993, and I began to teach ballet and dance locally. In 2000, I started Dance with Miss Lindsay and I am proud to say that many of former students have embarked on to college and a variety of careers including dance, and some of their children are now my students. The one common denominator that former students have relayed to me is that their time at Dance with Miss Lindsay helped them be comfortable with themselves and the skills they learned in my studio have become the backbone of how they live their lives – integrity, confidence and kindness.
